Hosted by Kay Ritchie and Tony Noble

We’ve been speaking with candidates and clients over the last month and seen a huge surge in candidates feeling tired, burnt out, or feeling ready for a career change. Some are looking to find a better work-life balance and others are looking for an employer who is more caring towards their mental wellbeing during these unsettled times.

We want to support our candidates as best as we can with these kinds of career conundrums and so to help support and guide you through some of the most common questions we get around veterinary careers, whether in practice or in industry – we’ve decided to host some free Veterinary Career Advice evenings.

Speaking at the events will be Kay Ritchie and Tony Noble from Noble Futures.

Tony is the founder and managing director of Noble Futures and has helped hundreds of candidates find their perfect career within the animal health industry. From perfecting your career plan and building a stand out CV, Tony is a fantastic support to those looking to advance their careers.

Kay Ritchie joined Noble Futures a few years ago after a hugely successful career both in practice as an RVN and then moving on to industry within animal health sales. This on the ground experience means Kay has a real understanding of the pressures, time constraints, and difficulties that a clinical career can present and how to resolve them. Kay also offers a wealth of advice and knowledge about making the move into industry after making the change herself.

Starting at 8pm each evening, and open for drop-ins throughout, Kay and Tony will be available to answer your questions and help offer guidance and support based around the following topics.

Tuesday 22nd September – Clinical Career Growth, how to build your clinical career plan

For many, the dream is to get the qualification needed get you into practice.. but then where next? For some after a few years in clinic, they are ready to take the next step, but what does that look like and where could that be?  We will help you build a vision for your career in clinic and how you can start putting in the framework for where you would like to be in 5, 10 years’ time.

Wednesday 23rd September – From Practice to Industry, diversifying and transitioning from clinical to industry roles.

We help support many candidates who have fallen out of love with the clinical way of life but are keen to stay within the veterinary and animal health world. We’ll look over topics like which direction is right for you; academic, sales, technical, charity, and more. We’ll also discuss how to get yourself and your CV ready for the change and how the work life balance this kind of career might bring.

Thursday 24th September – Standing Out, how to stand out when looking for your next role

You’re ready to make that next step, but how do you make yourself stand out as the candidate to go forward. We will look at ways at how you can progress with your current employer, from presenting yourself as someone who wants to take the next steps into leadership, team management, or diversifying your role. We will also look at how to stand out on paper and application for those looking to leave their current employer and head somewhere new.

Each evening will also have an open Q&A area where guests can discuss any other pressing career issues facing them outside of the above guided topics. We hope these events will be the first of many, so if there are any other areas you would like us to cover, please do get in touch and let us know!

These free events will be hosted on Zoom, to join us please drop an email to [email protected] letting us know which sessions you would be interested in joining and we will send you a secure zoom link and access code.
